A portion was sold to SNCF in 1865 to the passage of the Paris Calais. The monument of the aeronaut Hoste, a kiosk and a portal adorned the garden. Destroyed during the 1939-1945 war, it was redesigned by architect Pierre André Dufetel, a Boulogne-sur-Mer inhabitant. The portal is the only remnant of the nineteenth century.
